Wear resistant bimetal clad materials is composed of base metal and cladding metal. The thickness of wear resistant layer is normally 1/4-1/2 of the total thickness. When clad metals are working, the base metal will resist pressure, etc. comprehensive properties; and the cladding layer can meet the wear-resistance requirement under the working conditions.

The wear-resistant layer thickness of bimetal clad materials is 1-20mm, and its hardness can reach HRC60-67. Its wear-resistance is much higher than the metals made by spray welding and thermal spraying, is more than 15-20 times of general carbon steel does; and is more than 5-10 times of low-alloy steel plate does; and is more than 2-5 times of high chromium cast irons does.

Explosion welding Introduction
